Pharoah as buddha?

Amenhotep IIIWalking through the galleries of the wondeful Luxor museum – one of the best museumes I’ve been to anywhere in the world – an acquaintance commented that the pacific faces of the statues of the pharoah reminded her of the buddha.

Unfortunately it’s now forbidden to take photographs in the museum, so these are garnered from the web.

The first picture is of the wonderful statue of Tut Moses III.
The statue radiates confidence and youth.
